UNLIMITED HABITS · NO ACCOUNT · NO SUBSCRIPTION
A habit tracker that never asks you to pay for a sixth habit
It's a checkbox and a streak counter. Add as many habits as you like, tap to tick today, and watch a year fill in. No sign-up, no app to install, nothing leaves your browser.
No account, no email, no card. Your habits are saved in this browser and you can export them whenever you want.

What you get, and what you'll never be asked for
Most habit trackers are free until the fifth habit. Productive stops you at five and asks for a subscription; Way of Life stops you at three; HabitBull at five. tickbook has no cap, because a checkbox costs us nothing per person.
Unlimited habits
Six habits, or sixty. There is no cap to hit, no paywall halfway down the list, and no feature behind a badge. The free version is the whole version.
No account, no email
Nothing to sign up for. There is no login screen, no password to forget and no newsletter — your habits live in this browser's own storage, not on our server.
Works offline
Ticking a box needs no network. Open the page once, and it keeps working on a plane, on the underground, or with the wifi off.
Free, with the reason stated
Not free-for-now. We have no per-person cost to recover: no accounts to store, no server keeping your data, no push service to pay for. See "Why this is free" below.
Your year
Every day you tick something, a square fills in. A year of them is the whole point of keeping a tracker.
One square per day. The darker the square, the more habits you ticked that day.
Why this is free — the actual reason
Free is fine. This is not a trial, a freemium tier or a price we'll introduce later: tickbook costs nothing and there is no plan to charge for it.
Here is why we can say that. A habit tracker has no cost that grows with the number of people using it. Your habits are stored by your own browser, so we hold no accounts and run no database. Reminders are a calendar file your own calendar repeats, so there is no push service to pay for. Export is a file your browser writes. Serving this page costs the same whether ten people or ten thousand tick a box today — which is why capping the free version at five habits and charging a yearly subscription for the sixth was always a pricing decision, not a cost.
If it turns out to be useful to you and you want to leave something, there's a box below. It's a thank-you, not a price, and nothing on this page changes if you skip it.
Your data, in and out
Habits on your own device are habits you can lose — a new phone, a cleared browser. So the export is one click, in a format a spreadsheet opens, and the import reads what the app you're leaving wrote.
Export
CSV for a spreadsheet, JSON for a full backup you can import again. Both are written by your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Import from another tracker
Pick a file. Loop Habit Tracker's CSV export works as the .zip it comes as — no unzipping first. So does a plain CSV with a date column and one column per habit, and any tickbook JSON export. Habits that match by name are merged, not duplicated.
A daily reminder, without notifications
Download a repeating calendar event and open it once. Your own calendar then reminds you at that time every day, on every device it syncs to — including an iPhone, where a website can't send you a notification unless you install it.
If you're moving off a tracker that capped you
Plain answers to what people actually search for when a habit app starts charging.
- Simple habit tracking app: a list, a tick, a streak
Habit apps collect features until the tracking gets lost. What a simple habit tracker should do, what to ignore, and one that is only a list and a streak.
- Free alternative to Productive, Way of Life and HabitBull
Hit the habit limit in Productive, Way of Life or HabitBull? Where each cap sits, how to export what you have logged, and a free tracker with no cap at all.
- Free offline habit tracker, with no account needed
A habit tracker that works with the wifi off and stores nothing on a server: how offline tracking works, what you give up, and how to keep a backup of it.
- Habit tracker with no subscription: what to look for
Habit apps keep moving to monthly plans, and one-off purchases keep disappearing. How to find a tracker with no subscription, and how to keep your history.
- Free habit tracker app with unlimited habits
What "free" means in habit tracker apps, which limits appear once you are using one, and a tracker that is free with unlimited habits and no account at all.
- Unlimited habit tracker, free: no cap on how many habits
Most free habit trackers stop at three or five habits. Here is how the caps work, what the paid tiers actually unlock, and a free tracker with no limit at all.
Want habits as a game instead?
tickbook is deliberately plain: a list, a tick, a streak. If you'd rather have creatures that grow as you keep a routine — and you don't mind an account — our own Animunda does that.
Want to support tickbook?
Everything here is free, and that is completely fine. It costs us nothing beyond being on our server, so it costs you nothing.
Want to chip in anyway? It goes straight to keeping these tools free for everyone. Pick an amount, or write your own.
